Cosme Tokyo 2014 will open its doors for the third time on October 20th, and will be revealing a distinctive emphasis on cosmetic ingredients and products developed from stem cells.

The three day event, said to be the biggest industry show in Japan and one of the biggest in the Asia Pacific region, will feature some of the most advanced ingredients and finished products on the market, and with stem cell technology trending, there will be plenty of examples to see on the show floor.

Event organiser, Reed Exhibitions Japan, has picked four different products that will be platformed at the exhibition, including an offering from Thailand, a new comer to the exhibition, an organic labelled product and a brand new anti-ageing product.

In-cosmetics 2014 innovation award winner

The anti-ageing cosmetics zone at the event will be the showcase for LBH’s Akosky Apium, which was the winner of the 2014 in-cosmetics innovation award, an event that took place back in April, in Hamburg.

The line has been developed from an extract of the plant Akosky Apium, which has utilized totipotent stem cell technology.

The product targets the entire collagen lifecycle, which means that it helps induce synthesis, creates the correct assembly of cells and ultimately delays degradation to regenerate and remodel the skin.

Stem cell ‘slimming cream’

In the salon section of the show floor you can find McCoy’s Non F Monster slimming cream, which contains Isorhamnetien and which is said to have an action that is directly absorbed by the body’s stem cell.

Moving over to the Thailand Pavilion, Bangkok Dermatology Center will be demonstrating its latest skin care offering, which features stem cell technology that targets both the anti-ageing category, as well as an after treatment for individuals who have had cosmetic laser surgery.

In the skin care zone, Caleo will be showing its lotion, which highlights EGF, fullerene and apple stem cell extract, amongst a range of advanced ingredients, while in the newcomer to the Japanese market zone, Regeron will be highlighting its anti-ageing product line containing the human growth hormone hGH.

Cosmetics Design team will be there!

The Cosmetics Design editorial team will be at the event, covering the conference programme, focusing in on the key trends, interviewing some of the key movers and shakers and keeping an eye on the most interesting products being showcased on the huge event floor.

Look out for our photo gallery, which will be published during the course of the week, to highlight some of the most eye-catching innovations and news.
