Fire damages Dabur India skin care products factory
The company’s skin care products factory in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, was damaged by a fire late last month, and production has begun in alternate facilities.

Dabur India reports that inventory and assets amounting to Rs. 23 Crore were affected and that an insurance claim to recoup damages is underway. The company does not expect the incident to affect business.

FMCG

Dabur is a leader among India’s fast-moving consumer goods companies, operating in hair care, oral care, skin care and other categories. The company distributes goods to over 60 countries and specializes in Ayurvedic and natural products.

Skin care innovation

Just over a year ago the company launched its latest skin care product, a gel-based facial skin bleach, developed by Dubar’s in-house R&D team, features oxygen and aloe vera.

Oxy Life Gel Bleach with Aloe Vera is being sold with a companion skin serum product, Oxy Life Post Bleach Skin Brightening Serum.

"We hold the patent for Oxysphere technology innovated by DRDC in collaboration with German labs. Using this technology pure active Oxygen molecule can be trapped in a product which gets released deep into the skin on application,” explained Mr. Sanjay Singal, head of marketing for Dabur skin care.

“With the launch of Oxy Life Gel Bleach we aim to further strengthen our leadership position in the approximately Rs 300 Cr skin bleach market and set new benchmarks for the growth of the category.”
