Vacuumed pores feature in skin care routines

Skin vacuuming is the latest trend to hit Korea and Asia-Pacific as consumers seek to improve their skin’s appearance.

Skin care: an additional step

Pore vacuuming is currently the on-trend, must-do skin care step for consumers aiming to maximise soft and healthy looking skin.

Korean beauty users are adding pore vacuuming, which uses a vacuum suction to remove clogged pores, to their already extensive skin care routines.

Commonly known as an acid peel in the K-beauty industry, beauty users are opting for a facial skin care vacuum that is a handheld device with a rotating nozzle tip that inserts an acid-based solution.

This is then sucked out along with pore contents that typically include dirt, sebum and dead skin cells that build up and get stuck in the skin following everyday activities, sports and the environment.

Face masks

A facial mask is then applied following the vacuum. The facial mask skin care segment remains sizable throughout APAC, with South Korea experiencing both high spend and high growth rates due to its innovative creations and formulations.

Consumers looking for a prestige service are visiting spas for a red light therapy session as part of the facial skin care trend.

Gunk then glow

As consumers seek to overcome deeper skin care problems such as acne, they are looking for procedures and skin care options that boost collagen production to alter the skin by giving it a fuller appearance.

Flawless complexions can be achieved by reducing the number of blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. Unlike acne creams and gels, pore vacuuming aims to go to the root of the problem and unclog pores to improve the skin's overall complexion.

Wellbeing is a prime concern for beauty buyers, as skin care consumers look for items that combine beauty and health to support an active lifestyle and encourage the emergence of natural ingredients in formulations.
