Avon Cosmetics is looking to secure a bigger portion of the Chinese market in the country this year; and has targeted Malaysia as an integral part of this.

“We want to approach the Chinese market. This is an opportunity for Avon where we feel we can play a role in enhancing their lifestyle and business opportunities,” managing director Carolyn Nur Amira Lee told the Malaysian National News Agency Bernama.

“Our core market is the Malay market and that will continue to be our core market. We value, appreciate and want to protect that.”

To further reach out to these segments, she said Avon planned to nurture its younger representatives below the age of 25 to at least 40 percent of its 500,000 members, from the current 20 percent, this year.
