The first ASEANbeauty event will open its doors in Bangkok on April 8th, providing a major platform for health and beauty companies throughout the Southeast Asian region.

The three day event is being organised by UBM Asia, which claims that nearly 150 companies and 200 brands have already confirmed their participation in the three day event which will take place at the Bangkok International Exhibition and Convention Center, in Thailand’s capital city.

The event will target the promotion of Asian beauty products and services for companies representing Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan and mainland China, focusing on the massive and continued beauty industry growth throughout the region.

Launching pad for new brands

The organiser says that the event should prove to be a launching pad for many new brands, products and innovations, which will be evident on the show floor.

New products making a splash from Thailand will include names such as IR-Beauty, Beauty Community, Advance Cosmetic, Golden Cosmetic, Beauty Booster and Dr. Younger, while Japanese names such as Nippon Zettoc, Dr. Recella and She Style will also be debuting innovations.

The event will also prove to be a platform for packaging manufacturers from throughout the region, including names such as Conimex, Printing Solution, Mayplas, Fenghuan, and Shangyu Aina Packaging.

Comprehensive conference programme

Conferencing will also play a key part of the event, featuring international regulations on label claims, social marketing approaches for beauty products, consumer insights and a range of key beauty trends and opportunities.

"The ASEAN Beauty industry has more than tripled since 2007 from USD 4 billion to USD 14 billion and is projected to witness growth of CAGR between 3 - 6 percent by 2015,” said Ms. Nuning Barwa, president of the ASEAN Cosmetics Association.

“The region's economic integration into a single ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 will bring more cooperation amongst member countries at a lower cost under a seamless trading regime."
