Market researcher Mintel has highlighted a number of new hair care launches in Asia that all target healthier, thicker and more lustrous locks.
Asian hair care needs are generally different to other global regions, with the predomination of thicker, darker hair follicles dictating that products are designed to tackle and care for these specific requirements.
At the in-cosmetics Asia event, held in Bangkok earlier this month, the Mintel Innovation Zone highlighted a number of Asian hair care products that have been specifically developed to tackle the problems of condition, thickness, shine and receding hair.
NuZen Gold Herbal Hair Oil
This is a traditional Ayurvedic Indian hair care treatment that has been on the market for a number of years, but has been repackaged and rebranded to provide 43 percent more product, which the manufacturer says is free.
If the manufacturer's claims are to be believed, this really is a multifunctional and all-round product, which is said to help generate new hair growth, prevent hair loss, strengthen hair at the roots and prevent dandruff.
Made from traditional Indian herbal extracts that include narikela, methika and japa pushpa, the product is also said to protect from free radicals and environmental hazards to leave hair healthy and glowing.
Shiseido Tsubaki Bitsuyayu Beauty Shine Oil
This is a limited edition hair oil launched in Japan, said only to be available from the Shiseido website, which has been formulated using camellia oil, which is rich in hair repairing nutrients, as well as moisturizing and proective agents.
It retails for approximately $16 and is marketed on the strength of its mix of benefits, which include radiance boosting, protection and ability to repair damaged hair follicles.
The fact that it is easily absorbed into the hair is also said to lend it an enhanced ability to prevent hair breakage and split-ends, which are commonly caused by hazards such as hairdryers and UV exposure.
Kerastase Homme Capital Force - Anti-Hair Loss Roller
This is a luxury brand that has been launched in Japan that targets the specific needs of Asian men who are facing thinning hair or receding hair lines.
Part of the collection is a specially designed 'Anti-Hair Loss Roller', which has been created to fight the earlier stages of hair loss.
This roller is used to help stimulate and massage the scalp, a procedure that not only aims to help stimulate the flow of blood to the scalp, but also provides the double action of the Systeme Taurine, which aims to reduce the rate of hair loss and maintains overall hair density by targeting specific thinning areas.
