Returning to Shanghai in March, the ninth edition of PCHi is now open for pre-registration which organisers are encouraging industry professionals to make use of, to avoid onsite fees and queues at the show.

Pre-registration for the 2016 Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients runs until 28th of February, a three day show which aims to bridge the gap between Chinese and foreign cosmetics companies.

Organiser, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions is hoping to better serve the industry with this edition by catering to international cosmetics manufacturers and suppliers by offering access to new ingredients for their product development needs.

We recognize that developing a cosmetic product entails more than just putting together the right ingredients,” explains Elynn Xu, PCHi Project Manager.

With that in mind, we decided that a multi-faceted trade event with a more diverse exhibitor profile would meet the specific and varied needs of domestic and overseas cosmetics and personal care product manufacturers at PCHi more adequately,” she adds.

Paving the way for China's cosmetics industry

Industry revenue in China is expected to reach US$23.6 billion by 2020. With its huge market potential, it is a hot spot for global cosmetics manufacturers and ingredients suppliers.

As of August 2015, 340 exhibiting companies from 20 countries confirmed their participation for the event, with at least 11 companies choosing the show as the preferred launch pad to debut their innovations.

In line with bridging the gap between Chinese and international players, more conference sessions in English will be incorporated into the 2016 education programme.

Delegates can expect to get the most up to date industry information from a panel of world-renowned speakers, including representatives from government bodies, associations, and market researchers.

Two new hot topics have been added to the conference programme – 'Colour Cosmetics' and 'Consumer Behaviour', which have been categorised into five main tracks:

•     Skin Care/Hair Care/Colour Cosmetics;

•     Rules and regulations (for Asia and EU);

•     Marketing trends, including a new consumer behaviour segment;

•     Formulation and testing technology; and

•     Packaging (design, trends, and technology)

According to Xu, each track will comprise of several topic segments which will address the up-to-date challenges and trends within the personal care industry. Details of which will be released at a later date.
