State-of-the-art aerosol plant opens in China

Colep, a leading European aerosol and liquids manufacturer, recently partnered with the One Asia Network (formed of Daizo Corporation in Japan, Pax Australia and Asian Aerosol in India) in establishing a manufacturing and technology agreement: the ACOA.

According to the Europe-Asia supply network, the new China facility is the investment of its member company Daizo, and will be the aerosol manufacturer’s second site in the country. The opening comes in response to increasing aerosol demand in China.

Masaaki Arai, director of Daizo’s overseas division, commented: “This second aerosol manufacturing plant in China is testament to the growing demand for aerosol products in the Chinese market​.”

What is the ACOA?​

The Alliance is a manufacturing and technology agreement between the two operations of Colep and One Asia which, they state, gives them “unrivalled proximity to a global market within the aerosol filling world​”.

The ACOA has 18 other manufacturing sites around the globe, and the partnership does not involve any cross-shareholding.

Instead, the organisations say, the partnership represents the sharing of best practice in the areas of manufacturing, technology, innovation, quality and safety.

Safe and sustainable​

Daizo’s director is keen to press the safety and sustainability of the new aerosol plant, which is situated in Zhangjiagang, on the Yangtze River.

“The purpose-built facility has been developed with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at the core, which aligns it with our ongoing sustainability strategy as a truly global manufacturing and technology offer,​” Arai explained.

After receiving the necessary Cosmetics Production Permit approval, which aligns the new facility with the China’s stringent cosmetic regulations, the ZDA (Zhangjiagang Daizo Aerosol) opened officially at the end of last year.
