The in-cosmetics Asia event this year will see the educational programme be completely free for the first time in its history, with a country focus on Japan, and regulations being key.

Visitors in Bangkok will be able to attend Marketing Trends Presentations, Innovations Seminars, Regulatory Presentations and the new Interactive Formulation Lab.

Organisers say that the Marketing Trends Presentations will explore key topics such as Asian men’s beauty trends, skin-whitening and the ASEAN 2015 Economic Community, as well as presentations on Japan, the subject of this year’s Country Focus.

As part of this focus Florence Bernardin of Information & Inspiration will be assessing the opportunities and future developments in the market, where demand for premium cosmetics continues to rise.

Regulatory focus

Regulation will also be a key talking point at the event, and the Regulatory Presentations will shine a light on key updates professionals need to be aware of.

The second day of the show also sees Dr Alain Khaiat of Seers Consulting chairing a panel discussion on ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Opportunities and Challenges​, scheduled to become a reality in 2015.

The educational programme will also see presentations from many market researchers as they analyse and dissect the local markets.

Kline’s Nikola Matic will look the speciality active ingredients markets in China, Europe and the United States, Euromonitor’s Pei Ying Loh looks at the Asia Pacific region and the rising trend of younger consumers using anti-ageing products, while Daniel Bone of Datamonitor will explore the global haircare category, and the impact of the skin-whitening segment on the skin care market.

A new feature for the 2014 edition will be the Interactive Formulation Labtaking place inside a purpose-built, fully functional lab that will see demonstrations from some of the top ingredient suppliers attending the show.

The Educational Programme will also see more than 28 Innovation Seminars presented by exhibitors, highlighting new ingredients and technologies on offer.
