Toxicology consultant company Delphic HSE Solutions will open a regional office in Hong Kong, which will help it enter the Asian certification market.

UK-based Delphic HSE is a consultancy and risk assessment service in compliance with cosmetic laws in the EU, North America, South America, Australia, the Middle East and Asia; and has closely followed recent ingredient scrutiny in the cosmetics space.

Having worked around a lot of the new regulation changes in Europe and helped out clients there, the company will now turn its attentions to Asia and the new office in Hong Kong, where a whole new challenge awaits.

Certification

Company CEO Cliff Betton, says that Hong Kong's role as the premium certification centre in Asia and the large number of consumer product brands anchored in the city drove the decision to set up a regional office.

"Hong Kong attracts a very wide range of global brands and these brands require qualified testing to build up customer confidence,” he says.

“This is a good niche for our company to enter, and we are delighted to come to Hong Kong and offer international standard certification options for companies who want to improve their product quality and reputation.”

"We also have very strong experience in some European product standards, so for companies which are planning to enter European markets, we offer good leverage on product testing," he adds.

Positive

Speaking of how Delphic’s move to the region, the Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion in Hong Kong, Charles Ng, believes that it will add to Hong Kong's role as a certification centre in Asia.

"Testing and certification is a pillar industry with growth potential in Hong Kong,” he says. “I believe that our city offers Delphic HSE ample business opportunities, and the company, with its leading edge in the testing field, will enhance Hong Kong's role as a regional testing and certification hub."
