Restructuring and strong sales boost Nu Skin
Direct sales player Nu Skin sales strong skin care sales and restructuring have both helped to boost second quarter results.
The company, which is present in North Asia, Americas, Greater China, Europe and South Asia/Pacific, says that revenue was marginallly up at $322.6m, compared to $321.7m in the same period last year.
However, taking into account the strength of the US dollar against international currencies, the results were up 4 percent on a constant-currency basis.
Net income was up 7.3 percent, from $20.6m to reach $22.1m, a figure that was also reduced by reduced costs from restructuring that was particularly effective in the Japan market.
As a result of the results, the company says it is increasing it full year forecasts, predicting that turnover in 2009 will be in the range of $1.26 to $1.27bn.
