Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation has teamed up with Mercuries & Associates to open several stores in Taiwan which will offer a broad range of cosmetics and dietary supplements.

Amongst the emerging Asian markets, Taiwan is said to have recently witnessed a rapidly growing demand for beauty and healthcare products, driven by the more conscious consumer, which Sumitomo has seen as an ideal opportunity to enter into this joint venture.

We will launch three pilot stores on a trial basis in the capital city. The stores will aim to offer new, distinctive values and concepts that are widely appealing to Taiwanese consumers, including discerning and selective customers.”

Following the operation of the initial pilot stores, Mercuries and Sumitomo will further promote the project jointly, seeking to expand the business to other areas of the island, and then to the wider Asian region, including mainland China.
