The expansion services provider has signed an agreement with Dr. Wolff to provide commercial and distribution services for the hair brand Alpecin in Hong Kong.

According to DKSH, the partnership will further strengthen its position in Hong Kong’s health market while contributing incrementally to the Group’s overall earnings and profitability.

The venture will include the launch and marketing of Alpecin, as well as activities such as in-store booking, promotion and rolling out television commercials.

Eduard Dorrenbeg, managing director of Dr. Wolff-Group, said of the agreement: “We have chosen DKSH Healthcare as the partner for our market entry in Hong Kong because of its excellent knowledge of the local consumer health market, its in-depth expertise in marketing and sales, as well as its proven track record in Market Expansion Services.”

While Richard Holloway, Vice President of DKSH Healthcare, Hong Kong, added: “We are glad to partner with Dr. Wolff and help the company enter Hong Kong with our Market Expansion Services.”

“We look forward to making an impact in the consumer health market with substantial growth and penetration.”

Asian Expansion

Switzerland-based DKSH sources, markets and distributes specialty products in 26 countries, and has been continually expanding its operations in the East.

The Asian cosmetics market is growing exponentially in response to social changes and increasing disposable income, resulting in a large number of new corporations expanding into the region.

In the past year, DKSH has agreed to provide services for two other Asia-focused cosmetics companies: health firm Rovithai and personal care product manufacturer Linco Card.

The company has also expanded its base of operations and infrastructure in India and agreed to form strategic partnerships with chemical manufacturers Clariant, Wacker and Synthomer, as well as providing them with tailored Market Expansion Services.

The Rovithai role, which involves providing regulatory consulting and product registration services, was labeled by DKSH’s vice president of Healthcare Bernd Lepper as underling the company’s position as the partner of choice for registration services in Thailand.
