BRB invests in Asia-Pacific to support its growth in personal care
BRB who has been based in the region for the last five years has reported double digit growth in the personal care market of late, despite only having crossed into the industry back in 2011. Other industries it caters to include the graphic and high tech sectors.
Now, it says it’s broadening its main regional manufacturing base in Malaysia to integrate dimethicone copolyols, alkyl dimethicones and volatile dimethicones. Ingredients it reckons are imperative in developing creative and innovative guide formulations for cosmetic clients across the globe.
To meet this demand, the ambitious company says a personal care technical service manager has also been placed on the silicone technical platform near Kuala Lumpur to develop 'creative formulations'.
"The development of BRB has always been organic, due to its focus on innovations and to a problem solving approach in its markets ability to supply cost effective ingredients in all situations , possibly for buyers to eliminate most single sourcing issues, much wider customization flexibility than other silicone players," say company reps.
In regards to the personal care industry, they go on to highlight that BRB specifically brings to the table a competitive and broad product range, and technical support from ingredient suppliers when it comes to increasingly complex cosmetic formulations.

The company crossed into the personal care industry back in 2011, when it independently exhibited at in-cosmetics for the first time.
Product manager Marc Ladreyt explains that the main reason for doing so was to gain BRB recognition as a key silicone player in the personal care ingredients industry, and at a stance that was clearly able to rival other silicone majors.
Currently the Netherlands-based company is planning to launch a range of silicone crosspolymers which are products acting as thickening agents for water-in-oil and water-in-silicone formulations, that they say are compatible with a variety of lipophilic acive ingredients such as fragrances and sunscreens.
BRB will exhibit for the fourth time at in-cosmetics Asia in Bangkok, on 29-31 October 2013, during which they will release a range of 11 new cosmetic formulations specially designed to fit the needs of their Asian customers.
