New Product Trails will highlight ingredient innovation at in-cosmetics Asia

As the final countdown gets under way for next week’s in-cosmetics Asia event in Bangkok, both visitors and exhibitors alike should keep an eye out for the brand new Product Trails.

Event organiser Reed Exhibitions says that its biggest Asian show to date is set to attract more than 360 exhibitors, a factor that is also expected to see more product launches that ever before.

Off the back of this, the organiser is predicting that around 240 new products will be launched or promoted at the show, underlining ingredient trends and functionality for the next generation of cosmetic and personal care products.

Industry experts identify important new ingredients

But at this year’s event, those new launches will be more clearly flagged as up as the organiser has asked industry experts to identify the most popular categories at the show by setting up category- and theme-specific Product Trails that lead visitors to exhibitor stands, where they can find out more information.

One of these experts is Florence Bernadin, from Asian cosmetic market specialist Information and Inspiration, who has identified 10 South Korean ingredients that she feels are trailblazers.

This year South Korea is the country focus at the event, so this particular Product Trails ties in with the many companies that will be occupying the South Korea Pavilion.

Interesting ingredients from South Korea...

The Korean ingredients that are being highlighted in the trail include one that is designed to fight thermal ageing and photo ageing, as well as a stabilised whitening agent, and a bee venom for anti-acne.

Meanwhile, the category specific Product Trails will include three products trails for anti-acne, anti-ageing and skin whitening ingredients, again all chosen by different industry experts and leading to the exhibitor stands for more information.

Innovations in the anti-acne trail will include a natural pore reducer called Pore Reductyl by Spanish company Coboisa and an egg yoke based ingredient called Purified Dey from US company Adbiotech.

In the anti-aging trail, ingredients will include Gapture, a jojoba based ingredient from Israeli company IBR and Hydroglycerinated extract of blackcurrant buds from France based Laboratories Prod’Hyg called ProdyGem 02.

Finally, the skin whitening trail will include a quasi drug Ehyl Ascorbic Acid by Japan’s Nippon Fine Chemical, together with a three-in-on whitening surface treatment called Sensibright Dual White WD from France-based Sensient.

This year’s in-cosmetics Asia event will again take place at at the BITEC venue in Bangkok, Thailand, from 29 – 31 of October.
