The US and Europe-based cosmetics R&D software provider, Coptis, opens its new Asia-Pacific (APAC) subsidiary to gain access to and penetrate the Eastern marketplace.

Situated in Singapore, Coptis has established its new branch to equip its APAC-based customers with “its best technical support service" and to "build an even closer customer relationship in the same time zone”, the company announced in a recent press release.

Managing R&D systems

Coptis specialises in providing performance software solutions to R&D laboratories in the cosmetics industry. Its services include an integrated system for formulation development and regulatory affairs, a reference database of over 15,000 cosmetic raw materials and an electronic document management system for cosmetic R&D processes.

To date, the company has built relationships with Namasté Laboratories, SkinMedica and Bite Beauty in the US and Canada, along with European-based cosmetics names such as Dermo-Cosmetik Laboratories, Davines Group and Primavera.

As the cosmetics market in the APAC region remains strong and innovative, Coptis is now developing its presence to appeal to professionals in the Eastern regions.

New appointment

After building his skills and career in the fields of cosmetology and IT, and as Coptis’ Business Development Manager for Europe and Asia, Jonathan Coeur has been announced as the Managing Director of Coptis Asia-Pacific branch.

Through focusing on ways to maximise cosmetics companies’ R&D and regulatory data management processes, Jonathan Coeur hopes to strengthen the position of Coptis within the global cosmetics software solutions market.

Generating momentum

The company has ramped up its marketing and exhibition efforts in May and June 2017 to reflect launching its new Singapore-based subsidiary in early June.

Coptis attended the Cosmetic Ingredients and Technology Exhibition (CITE) in Japan for the first time between 31 May - 2 June 2017 to display its software capabilities and demonstrate its lab, tab and ingredients solutions.

In a bid to further launch its brand presence in the APAC region, Coptis will also meet R&D specialists, formulators and ingredients professionals at this year’s in-cosmetics Korea exhibition in Seoul between 20-22nd June.
