Amway invests $25 million in second Vietnam facility

The Binh Duong plant is one of six new facilities Amway plans to open in 2015 - a strategy the company has allocated funds of $332 million for, as part of a global manufacturing expansion.

The others are located in the United States (California, Michigan and Washington), India and China. 

"The opening of our second factory in Vietnam will help our distributors reach more customers and become even more successful. We're committed to the continued growth of Amway Vietnam and look forward to many more years of helping to improve the lives of our distributors and the communities where they work and live,​" ​says company chairman Steve Van Andel.

Vietnam focus​

Amway began selling products in Vietnam in 2008. The company's first manufacturing facility is located in the Dong Nai Province. 

The idea is that this new factory will help the company to better serve its customers and 'meet projected business growth in the years ahead'.

"The substantial investment in building up a second factory in Binh Duong demonstrates strongly our long-term commitment to Vietnam and our desire to play a part in contributing to the socio-economic growth of the country​," Amway Vietnam general director, Leo Boon Wang adds. 

Nutrilite success​

Amway attributes the success of products like Truvivity by Nutrilite and its continued global roll-out of its Artistry Youth Xtend and Artistry Ideal Radiance skin care lines as being instrumental in boosting revenues in recent years.

With much of the gains concentrated in the Asia Pacific region, and more specifically China, the company announced this investment initiative in 2014 in an effort to see 'significant development and expansion' across the region.

Nutrilite supplements are made from whole plant concentrates and contain a wide array of phytonutrients which Amway claims is the only global vitamin and mineral brand to grow, harvest and process plants on its own certified organic farms.
