SDA opens online registration for annual meeting

The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) has opened up online
registration for its 81st annual meeting and industry convention,
to be held in Boca Raton, Florida, 30 January - 3 February, 2007.

The event, which this year features a keynote speech on industry management initiatives to remain globally competitive, presentations about the rise ot the China market as a world power, as well as association briefings about issues currently facing the industry, including the need to comply with the European chemicals .

According to the SDA, participants who register online will save approximately $100 per person on the registration and attendance fees. The association says that the online registration is a simplified two-step process, allowing industry professionals to register for the event itself as well as reserving for a guest room.

This year the event will be taking place at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, where the association has secured a 5 per cent discount for all attendees who make room reservations before 30 November.

The registration process also allows those attending to receive full information about the invent itself, including lists of all other attendees at the event, which is claimed to be a key opportunity to meet important players in the industry.

The event's keynote speaker will be Marcus Buckingham, a former Gallup Organization executive, who is also a published author on business management books. He will be stressing how industry management can adapt to global markets and ways to stay on top of increasingly complex market movements and politics.

Meanwhile Ted Fishman, a specialist in business in China, will be giving a keynote speech on the country explaining how rapid economic and industry growth is helping to elevate it to a position as a serious global contender within in the industry and the possible implications this will pose to other markets, particularly the US.

As well as the SDA briefings and global update, the event will present specific networking and social opportunities, including the SDA's Opening Reception and Friday President's reception, dinner and dance.
