The Beyond Beauty show, which opens its doors in Paris on September 12, will include a free conference programme covering three key industry areas.

The three segments follow the key areas for the exhibition itself – Cosmeeting, Creative and Trends – and have been designed to bring added value for both visitors and exhibitors.

Like all the presentations, the conferences for the Cosmeeting segment will last 45 minutes and are designed to highlight industry issues, including benchmarking for distribution, emerging brands, natural and organic and marketing online.

Organic cosmetics through to marketing online

Specific presentations will include how organic cosmetics contribute to biodiversity protection, a snapshot of the German cosmetics market, selective distribution through the internet and certification for organic products.

The Creative conference series will look at aspects of the industry that are more relevant to product design, research and development, including green chemistry, eco design, sustainable development, private label and cutting edge innovation.

Conference subjects for this segment will include a presentation from FEBEA about raw materials, the growth and evolution of private labels and a presentation about cutting edge packaging innovation that will include players such as Rexam and Chanel.

Trends conference

The Trends conference series will concentrate on the key factors that are currently driving the fashion conscience cosmetics industry, and how to tap into these areas as a means of creating new business opportunities.

The presentations will include how to tackle the European market for luxury products following the recession, a presentation from Mintel on how consumer patterns dictate new trends, a look in on the evolution of the China market and supplying the US market.

The show’s associated European Spa Summit will also include a series of nine fee-paying half day workshops, aimed at both spa managers and hoteliers, which will also touch on the area of spa treatments and products.
