Cognis to present new concepts and ingredients at In-Cosmetics Asia
The specialty chemical supplier and its active ingredients business will present product formulations that provide mild cleansing, measurable anti-ageing and whitening effects, with particular focus on sensory properties, surfactants and proven active ingredients.
“The products and concepts presented at In-Cosmetics all meet Asian consumers’ demands for high-quality products with excellent sensories,” said Young-Yull Kim, vice president Care Chemicals sales and marketing APAC.
New Ingredients introduced at show
At the event, Cognis, will feature three new nature-based ingredients in its booth, designed to enable manufacturers to create mild formulations with improved skin feel.
The German based company says it has produced a fast spreading emollient that can be used as an alternative to cyclic silicones, providing good skin compatibility.
It has also introduced a PEG/EO-free cationics rheology control additive which provides an improved electrolyte tolerance in hair and skin care formulations, and an alkyl polyglucoside surfactant which the company claim is perfect for Asian consumers with sensitive hair and skin.
LS will introduce three new ingredients at the show, designed to provide skin lightening, elasticity and firmness, and also combat aging.
It will present a pure synthetic module to offer protection against UV-induced damage, and a Manilkara leaf extract which provides further elasticity and resilience to the skin.
LS has also developed a maitake mushroom extract which it claims has dual anti-ageing properties and helps skin counteract stress.
New concepts addressing market trends
Both firms will also launch their new formulation concepts based on Asian consumer’s demand for sustainability, natural beauty and convenience in cosmetics.
Cognis claim Asian consumers enjoy a modern lifestyle in which flawless skin and natural beauty play a big part, and the concepts discussed will address this.
The In-Cosmetics Asia trade show will be held 2-4 November 2010 in Bangkok Thailand.
