Spanish-headquartered ingredients supplier Lipotec has opened a subsidiary in Sydney in order to drive growth in the region.

The subsidiary, Lipotec Pty. Ltd, will distribute on an exclusive basis the company’s ingredients to the New Zealand and Australian markets.

Headed up by Albert Calvillo, the office will provide sales and technical support to customers in the region, Lipotec claimed.

“Oceania is one of Lipotec’s strategic markets worldwide and certainly a key market within the Asia Pacific region,” Albert Calvillo told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com.

"With this new office Lipotec reinforces its structure in Asia Pacific and ensures continued support to a region that has experienced important growth over the past years and where further success is expected in the years to come," he explained.

Company strategy for global growth

The move is part of the company’s strategy for global growth which has seen the opening of a number of subsidiary’s in various regions in an attempt to build direct in house distribution, as well as new distribution partnerships.

Late last year the company announced new distributors in Israel and India, Devries & Co and Thirumalai Chemical, which it claimed would help build logistics in the two regions.

Earlier in 2009, the company opened an office in Singapore, in addition to a new subsidiary in Bologna, Italy.

According to a spokesperson for the company, there are plans to establish other subsidiaries worldwide in line with Lipotec’s short to mid term corporate strategy.
