People on the move: cosmetics jobs
Cosmetics Design presents the latest round up of the movers and shakers in the cosmetics industry, including a reshuffle at L’Oréal, and appointments at Shiseido and Inolex.

Over at L’Oréal, it has been announced that Werner Bauer and Francisco Castañer Basco, both members of Nestlé's management, will no longer be involved with the Board of Directors, after the Annual General Meeting of Tuesday, April 17.

This will also see the appointment of three new Board Directors. Paul Bulcke and Christiane Kuehne, who have been with Nestlé since 1979 and 1977 respectively, join the Board along with Jean-Victor Meyers, who has spent two years amongst L'Oréal's divisions, in France and abroad.

Over at cosmetics manufacturer Shiseido, corporate senior executive officer Carsten Fischer will become representative director, corporate senior executive officer on 1 April.

Fischer served as the president of Global Professional Care of Procter & Gamble, before serving as CEO of the Professional Business division and chief officer of the Professional Business division at Shiseido and then as corporate executive officer of the company from 2007 to 2010.

Plans in place

Ulta has announced that it is implementing a CFO succession plan after Gregg Bodnar announced he will step down due to a family health issue that requires him to relocate to Michigan.

CEO Chuck Rubin and the company’s board, with the assistance of an executive search firm, will begin searching for a successor, with Bodnar remaining in his position until the appointment in order to facilitate an orderly transition.

“My decision to leave was made even more difficult given the strength of my relationship with Chuck, the management team and the board, and the confidence I have in the company’s strategy,” said Bodnar.

From science to sales

Specialty chemicals company Inolex has announced that John H. Highton has been appointed Personal Care sales manager, having served as a senior scientist at Johnson & Johnson's McNeil Consumer Health Group.

"We are delighted that John is joining us to support our sales team,” said Steve Weinberg, managing director US sales.

“He’s coming on board during a very exciting time for Inolex. We have made a multi-million dollar investment in new cosmetic technologies to help our customers meet their market needs.”

Cosmetic packager Topline Products has named G. Scott Desson as vice president, China Operations, where he will oversee all production and manufacturing operations for Topline in China where the company has several manufacturing facilities.

Desson joins from Fusion Packaging where he served as vice president of engineering. Prior to that, he was vice president of engineering at the Maesa Group in New York and vice president of global packaging at HCT Packaging.

And finally, the the European Federation of Perfumery Retail Trade (Fédération Européene des Parfumeurs Détaillants - FEPD), the umbrella organisation of Europe’s perfumery retail organisations, has appointed Robert Leygues as its new president.
