Japanese cosmetics giant Shiseido has developed a limited-edition anti-aging cream that claims to lift and tighten the skin, priced at nearly $13,300 to mark its 140th anniversary.

French designer Olivier Severe handcrafted jars using 30 layers of crystal, and three platinum rings for the ‘Cle de peau Beaute,’  or internationally known  ‘La Crème’ moisturiser.

Although already available in stores for about $632 for a 1.8 oz jar, the company decided it wanted to up the glitz to commemorate the product line’s 30th anniversary.

Three jars are set to go on sale at Shiseido’s flagship store in the Ginza district in Toyko in September, but the cosmetics company is also said to be offering a more 'reasonably priced' version of the product, at just over $1,000 for a limited time as well.
