Nude by Nature claims only one product affected by contamination

Australian cosmetics brand Nude by Nature has announced that it expects contamination discovered by the ACCC to only lead to the recall of a few batches of one product, leaving the rest of its ranges unaffected.

The recall was announced on the 1st of August 2013 after an investigation by the regulatory body discovered“microbial contamination”in three NBN products.

At the time the contamination was believed to affect Nude by Nature liquid mineral foundation and Australian Lavender Essentials eye cream and moisturizer.

ACCC deputy chair Delia Rickard said that those with cuts, acne or a weak immune system might potentially be affected by the contamination.

A spokeperson from the company said that the testing by the ACCC did not match up with Nude by Nature’s own independently discovered results.

She also said that concerned consumers could call the company in order to receive a refund.
