The 13th Asia Surfactants Personal & Home Care Market event is due to open its doors in Shanghai next month and this year will focus in on the crucial elements of affordability and sustainability.

Surfactants are one of the most important ingredients for any cosmetic and personal care formulator, serving to combine and ensure compatibility of increasing complex and scientifically advanced ingredient combinations.

Combine this with the fact that the market for cosmetics and personal care in the Asia Pacific has continued to grow at double digit figures over the past few years, and this is in turn driving big demand in the surfactants segment.

Extensive exhibitor list and conference programme

Show organizer, CMT, has lined up this year’s event at the InterContinental Shanghai Pudong, 17 – 18 October, which will include an extensive number of exhibitors, together with a comprehensive conference programme.

Leading the conference programme will be a presentation from Kline & Company, given by senior analyst Rob Field-Marsham, who will elaborate about key trends in the region’s market and how they are impacting the demand for surfactants.

Hot topics will include drivers such as men’s grooming and skin whitening, together with more general trends which include a greater awareness for self-grooming and general personal hygiene.

Growth and challenges in surfactants

Other key presentations as part of the conference programme will include growth and challenges in the surfactant industry in India, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea and China, together with a focused presentation on mild surfactant solutions for the personal care market.

CMT says it is expecting a broad cross-section of professionals from the industry, with approximately half being from surfactant and chemical providers, with the home and personal care market is expected to make up approximately 20 percent of attendees.
