Topline establishes packaging facility in Tianjin, China
US-based cosmetic packaging supplier Topline has announced a new production facility located in Tianjin, a move that considerably expands the company’s global production base.

Currently the company has manufacturing facilities in Michigan, in the US, Mexico, and Xia Fei, China. The Xia Fei facility is focused on the expansive industrial areas serving the Shanghai area, whereas the new Tianjin facility will be focused on the Beijing industrial zones.

The Tianjin facility has been designed to product a wide range of beauty packaging products, but will also be producing blow-moulded components for other industries, including the automotive and electronics areas.

Focus is injection moulded packaging components

The facility is equipped to produce injection moulded packaging, as well mould designs and fabrications,  and can also meet orders for cosmetic brush components, as well as hot stamping, pad printing and in-mould labelling and decoration.

The new facility is one of the company’s biggest plants to date, covering an area of 270,000 square feet, and was built at the beginning of 2012. Once the facility reaches full capacity, Topline says it will employ around 400 people there.

Although it will be serving the global market, the new facility also steps up the company's game in China, which has grown quickly in recent years, off the back of huge demand for a complete range of cosmetic and personal care products as continued economic growth drives greater consumer spending power.

Facility will serve the Asia Pacific and global markets

“This new addition to our manufacturing base supports our strategic objective of creating a global sales and manufacturing organization to serve our network of global customers,” said Charles Chang, Topline president.

“The Tianjin facility offers a cost competitive location to serve not only the Asian market but also customers in Europe, North and South America."
The addition of the new facility, alongside the existing three other facilities, is said to give Topline a total manufacturing area that now extends to over 600,000 square feet of production and warehousing space.

“The tool manufacturing facility also provides the ultimate flexibility in design and cost for all Topline manufacturing locations, while the plant offers ample room for growth and expansion,” Chang added.
