The packaging supplier has developed what it says is the first ecological global airless dispensing system, which takes traditional airless technology to a new level by combining ergonomics and sensuality in one jar.

Promens says its new jar combined with an airless dispensing system caters to recent consumer feedback for a skin care formulation. It that comes in the form of a pot but is also protected against bacteria, a common problem with cream jars as the formulation is often exposed to the elements.

Business development director Isabelle Orhan tells CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com that this is a current trend Promens is noticing in the industry where consumers are pushing brands to the limit to eliminate preservatives, making formulas more and more fragile.

"Consumers need airless packaging which protects formula from oxidation and other externals contaminations during its entire usage," she explains. Thus, this product; 'Slidissime' has been developed with a 'touch and slide' compact to cater to this demand.

"It ensures hygiene and clean use, sensuality of the soft touch, ergonomics and accuracy of dosage," she adds.

'A new airless ritual'

Orhan explains that 'Slidissime' is comprised of an airless pouch technology with a flexible touch & slide pump, an airless jar consisting of a collapsible pouch and an ergonomic flexible airless pump made of four parts, which guarantees protection from oxidation, UV rays and other external contaminations during its entire usage.

"Existing standard airless jars use the piston-airless technology and are equipped with a lateral or central actuator, standard dispenser or pushing membrane," the business development director gives by way of example.

However with this technology, the Promens rep says the cream dose is obtained by a touch and slide movement with the slide of the finger which is similar to the natural gesture of a caress rather than pushing a button, which isn't as 'precise and sensual'.

"By a simple slide on the membrane, a dose is delivered by the system through its thin hole. Located at the extremity of the touch & slide pump, this hole closes after each dosage, avoiding any air-intake and drying of the formula."
