Evonik ingredient wins PCHi’s ‘Award of Merit’
Chemicals specialist Evonik’s hair and scalp care active ingredient SPHINGONY was selected for an Award of Merit by PCHi 2014.
The ingredient claims to rebalance the life cycle of the hair, promote a healthy scalp, and reduce hair loss. It won the accolade in the personal care and cosmetics innovation award category at the Asia trade show.
The Germany-based company explained the ingredient’s function further in a statement.
“Having healthy hair embedded in a healthy scalp is essential to prevent hair loss. SPHINGONY is a naturally occurring, skin-identical sphingolipid which prevents hair loss by addressing scalp health and rebalancing the life cycle of the hair.”
The award was granted during the recent trade show’s ceremony, which it jointly organises with trade media publications and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions.
