S’N’B unveiling Halal nail polishes at Beautyworld Middle East
Natural nail care beauty specialist Safe ‘N’ Beautiful is debuting its new Halal nail polishes at the Beautyworld Middle East international trade fair that is taking place in Dubai from 27-29 May 2014.

Unlike traditional nail polishes, the patented Halal formulation is aqueous and oxygen permeable according to Safe ‘N’ Beautiful, which highlights that the range took several years to develop.

Conforming to Halal principles, the water-based and water-removable nail polishes are free from alcohol and animal-derived products, and as Safe ‘N’ Beautiful notes, are also 'five-free' of controversial chemicals DBP, camphor, toluene, formaldehyde and its resins.

"We're very excited to be launching our latest products at Beauty World ME in Dubai," commented Jeanette Sklivanou, the founder of Safe 'N' Beautiful.

"Years in development, the new S'N'B range is integral to our ethos of formulating beauty products that are natural, naturally safe and of the highest quality,” she added.

Growth in Halal cosmetics market

The global halal cosmetics and personal care market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 13.43% over the 2013-18 period according to a recent report from technology research and advisory company TechNavio.

According to ‘Global Halal Cosmetics and Personal Care Market 2014-18’, the increase in the Muslim population is one of the key factors contributing to market growth,.

The report also notes that the APAC and MEA regions are the major consumers of Halal cosmetics and personal care products, as these regions are home to the biggest Muslim population.

That said, the report also points to growth potential in non-Muslim countries. TechNavio highlights that Halal cosmetics and personal care products are widely accepted by other communities as they are considered to be safe, of high quality and to have been prepared using hygienic procedures.

Nonetheless, one of the major challenges hindering growth in the market, according to the report, is the certification of products by authentic bodies.

According to TechNavio, certification issues are usually seen in products exported by local markets, and such issues could result in certain consumers losing confidence in the Halal status of products and thus stop buying them as a result.
