Trading outdoes industry expectation at 1st Beyond Beauty ASEAN event
Organisers of the 1st edition of Beyond Beauty ASEAN have reported it a great success as 8,218 visitors gathered over 3 days, among which 1,567 were international attendees from 57 countries.

The show housed 227 exhibitors from 23 countries including 5 national pavilions (Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore & Indonesia) and showcased over 2,000 products from the cosmetics, spa & well-being, herb & supplement, and Nair & Hair sectors.

Organisers say the turnout led the event to an estimated trade volume of $30 million USD.

One of the features, the 'Hosted VIP Buyer programme' brought 100 top buyers from the ASEAN region to attend and participate in more than 450 pre-scheduled business meetings with the exhibitors.

Sebastien Molina, senior technical director of Bel Perfumes in Thailand who was involved as a VIP buyer says that all the ASEAN countries were represented and even beyond with Europe and Korea.

"This show is definitely a place to be for all companies willing to develop in the region," he adds.

'Tapping into industry strengths of Thailand benefits the entire region as a whole'

Three key conference areas tackled topics such as entry into the ASEAN market, the latest cosmetic products, formulation, innovation in beauty, design trends and much more.

According to Mr Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management; "The trade volume created as a result of this event is something we did not expect for the 1st edition but shows that by tapping into the strategic location and industry strengths of Thailand, it benefits the entire region as a whole."

"We will work at turning the 2nd edition into the largest and most successful show of the region, and, within the next few years, into one of the leading trade platforms for the global beauty industry," he adds.

Big plans for next year..

Mr David Bondi, chief operating officer at Informa Exhibitions Asia opens door on the 2015 edition; "This event will be the key highlight show of the Beyond Beauty portfolio in ASEAN and we intend to expand it to be the largest regional show in 2015 with the addition of 2 new key profiles (OEM & Packaging)".

The Hosted VIP Buyer Program will be expanded to twice its current size with more than 200 VIP buyers while other features will include a 'SME' and a 'Made-In-Thailand' zone to showcase the best of the beauty industry in Thailand.
