The website, which is managed by Lifestyle Inc, has become the reference point for Japanese consumers to get independent and impartial reviews on the latest cosmetics and personal care launches, written by other consumers.
It is the largest site of its kind in Japan, and has consequently been built into a powerful commercial platform that Japanese consumers are said to trust in.
A total of 25 winners
The winners were chosen as a grand prize, then sub categories for skin care, base make-up, makeup, body care and hair care, were based on customer reviews for products that were launched between November 2014 and April 2015.
The awards were given to the products that had the best consumer reviews, while the number of reviews for each product also had a significant bearing on the final result.
According to the @cosme award organisers, 3,960 products were reviewed during this period, which took into consideration a total of 57,259 individual consumer reviews.
And the Grand Prize goes to...
The list of winners included the Grand Prize, which was awarded to MAQillAGE Dramatic Melting Rouge lipstick, for the highest overall customer reviews during the period.
The other five principle categories gave way to a further 24 prizes, all of which can be referenced by clicking here, and include the consumer marks given to each product as part of the review process.
The @cosme wesite is claimed to be the biggest portal for cosmetics and beauty products in Japan and currently includes a database of over 250,000 products and 12 million users.
