Known for its organic ingredients and product portfolio, the Indian cosmetics label has launched its D’Fend SPF Crème sun care collection.

The new range was unveiled on the 28th November 2017 to correspond with Azafran Innovacion’s plans to breaks out into the protective skin care sector with its latest offering.

Fighting for skin protection

Its sun care offering boasts two variants: D’Fend SPF Crème in SPF 30 and SPF 50. Hailed by Azafran Innovacion as “a sun warrior”, the sunscreen has been formulated for daily use.

Moving into the sun care sphere, Azafran Innovacion’s collection offers “high broad-spectrum” sun protection against harmful UVB and UVA rays, and can be used on both the face and body.

The new range is targeted at Indian and Asia-Pacific (APAC) consumers who are worried about the impact the sun has on the appearance of their skin, particularly as this is perceived to indicate ageing.

As many consumers are concerned about the visible signs of ageing and the appearance of the skin as a result of the environment, it also protects the skin from seasonal pollution, as well as reducing pigmentation, sunburn and suntan.

All about nature

The sunscreen has been developed using natural ingredients including mineral-rich water and organic soya butter.

“Mineral-rich water in the crème hydrates the skin, while organic soya butter moisturises, soothes wrinkles and nourishes the skin,” the brand stated in a recent press release.

Describing itself as developing “product lines [that] are created using nature's purest ingredients that are grown, harvested, extracted and processed at our own facilities”, Azafran Innovacion believes that by embracing its D’Fend SPF Crème into their regular skin care routine, consumers can achieve moisturisation and sun protection in a single step.

Pitching the active consumer

Attracting the active beauty consumer market, SPF 30 is positioned for use indoors, while SPF 50 offers sun protection to users partaking in outdoor and sports activities. As it includes a sweat and water-resistant formula, it can also be used for a wide range of sports including swimming.

Both sunscreens have UVA protection, which, the brand states “blocks more than 90% of the sun rays”. Suitable for all skin types, the crème is made with natural ingredients and therefore does not block the skin pores, which subsequently helps avoid acne and breakouts.

One of Azafran Innovacion’s key messages is that “skin needs protection from sun-induced skin damage throughout the year”, and the company’s sunscreens are “ideal to be used all year round”.
