in-cosmetics Asia to highlight the importance of hydration for flawless skin
This year, in-cosmetics Asia is placing the spotlight on hydration to help cosmetic manufacturers tap into the growing Asian aspiration of achieving glass-like, cloudless skin.

The event will provide R&D teams and cosmetic chemists with information on moisturising ingredients and how to source them.

Behind the trend

Today, Asia remains as a leading market in global skin care sales, as Asian consumers continue to seek solutions that will allow them to achieve clear and luminous skin.

Two growing skin care trends in the region include “glass skin” and “cloudless skin”, which refer to radiant and spotless skin respectively.

Moisture plays a huge role in these trends and Asian consumers are more aware that hydration is the key to plump and supple skin that looks radiant without being oily.

“Beauty products with hydrating properties continue to be increasingly sought after among consumers living in the APAC region,” said Belinda Carli, in-cosmetics Group’s Technical Advisor and Director of the Institute of Personal Care Science.

“They’re aware of the importance it has in achieving glowing, dewy and healthy skin without residual greasiness or clogging pores. They demand innovations that provide clinically proven, lasting hydration as a part of their daily routines.”

Our skin is largely composed of water and has its own mechanisms to maintain hydration levels and protect against external elements.

However, increased exposure to heat, pollution and air conditioning, as well as bad lifestyle habits, all have negative effects skin’s natural defences, making it difficult to maintain flawless and radiant skin.

Keeping skin constantly hydrated is essential to combat these detrimental impacts, but hydration is not just about water. New ingredients, textures and formats are progressively advancing in ways to boost hydration.

Dedicated spotlight

With a dedicated Spotlight On Hydration area, the event will bring leading suppliers together to present innovations which can enhance formulations and deliver incredible hydration to consumers.

Among those presenting at in-cosmetics Asia’s Spotlight On Hydration area will be Mibelle Biochemistry and BIOCOSMETHIC SAS. Sponsor Mibelle Biochemistry will showcase MossCellTec No. 1, biotechnologically produced moss that improves skin hydration, while BIOCOSMETHIC SAS will introduce Aquapuntia, which is produced responsibly from the prickly pear.

“in-cosmetics Asia’s Spotlight On Hydration area will bring together some of the world’s most exciting new ingredients that will inspire R&D professionals and enable them to create unique, stand-out moisturizing products,” said Carli.

“Ingredients that provide hydrating properties are pivotal to the development of new products that help deliver pure, clean, radiant and glowing skin,” added in-cosmetics Asia. “The event will bring together the world’s leading suppliers to showcase unique materials that will inspire a new wave of innovation in Asia.”

This year’s edition of in-cosmetics Asia will be taking place from October 30 to November 1 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITECH).
