Symrise launches probiotics-based ingredient

Called SymReboot L19, it is said to restor the skin’s instinctive defenses and helps boost the natural defense mechanism thanks to the probiotic-like action.

The ingredient launch taps into one of the most significant trends in the industry right now, which is focused on skin protection and microbiome.

SymReboot wins a BSB prize​

The ingredient has already scooped second place in the BSB Innovation awards for active ingredients category, which the Symrise development team believes is an endorsement of its claims that it can open up new horizons for probiotic-based skin care formulations.

The ingredient’s capabilities​

SymReboot has been designed to succeed in maintain the bacterial structure throughout the manufacturing process, while preserving important benefits for the skin.

According to the development team, the metabolites of the mildly heat-treated microorganisms contained in the ingredient serve to activate the skin’s natural defense mechanisms and thereby soothe the skin and strengthen the skin barrier, boosting its instinctive defenses.

According to Symrise, the ingredients has been tested and substantiated in vivo, and in an extensive series of vitro tests.
