Speciality chemical company Lubrizol was at Society of Cosmetic Scientists Singapore’s Suppliers Day to showcase Oilkemia 5S polymer, an oil thickener developed to help formulators create innovative and visually appealing oil products.

Sofia Lee, technical services engineer of Lubrizol believes the demand for oil products in cosmetics is rising because consumers perceive oil as being more active and potent.

At the same time, Lee added, cosmetic companies had to constantly find novel ways to capture their attention.

“Consumers are always looking for new product formats. They always want something that will excite, something that is unique and different. Oilkemia 5S is all about enhancing textures and appearances of oil products,” said Lee.

According to Lee, what makes Oilkemia 5S so impressive is the clarity it can deliver.

“Clarity is what we are aiming for. Oilkemia 5S really gives you enchanting textures that can really grab onto the customer's attention. And with its suspension, you can suspend glitters or flower petals, anything you want to catch attention.”
