Aēsop introduces first formulation containing BHA and PHA as alternative to physical exfoliants

Aēsop has launched an exfoliating mask formulated with a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) and a polyhydroxy acid (PHA), providing an alternative to products containing physical exfoliants.

Lucent Facial Refiner is Aēsop’s first formulation to include both BHA and PHA, alongside a variety of essential oils and vitamins, such as vitamin B5 (panthenol), vitamin E (tocopherol), and vitamin F (linoleic acid).

The product is said to simultaneously refine and replenish the skin, resulting in a more even texture and appearance.

RAAIE says it is the first New Zealand skin care brand to launch in Sephora Oceania, as it actively seeks opportunities to expand into markets around the world.

This follows over a year of discussions that began in early 2024.

With products harnessing the bioactives found in native botanicals, RAAIE’s goal is to elevate brand awareness on a global stage, and to position New Zealand as a credible source of innovative, high-performance skin care.

Prime Skin bucks overconsumption trend with multifunctional, barrier-protective product

Australian skin care brand Prime Skin is seeking to buck the overconsumption trend in the beauty industry with its multifunctional product that claims to help maintain the skin’s barrier function and moisture levels.

The brand took nearly three years to debut its first product Jelly Plump last November, as the founders focused on sourcing the ingredients predominantly from Australia and developing the formulation locally.

This three-in-one product functions as a makeup remover, cleanser, and overnight mask.

Native Extracts set to develop more upcycled ingredients with Kagome Australia partnership

Australian ingredients maker Native Extracts has unveiled a “game changing” upcycled tomato seed oil, marking the start of its partnership with Kagome Australia to develop high-performance upcycled ingredients.

The Red Velvet Oil — tomato seed oil sourced from surplus tomato seed waste — is dubbed as an “active carrier oil” packed with lycopene, phytosterols, and essential fatty acids.

It has also been billed by the company as a next-generation alternative to ingredients such as bakuchiol and rose hip oil, and meets the demand of today’s consumer for high-end, eco-conscious products.
