The brand seeks to address the gap in professional products for diverse Asian hair textures with this new launch.
Called the KR Rescue System, the range includes the Scalp Rescue Kit and Colour Rescue Kit in 250ml home sizes and 100ml travel-ready formats, alongside the Pro Style Paste in 100ml.
The formulas have undergone development and salon testing on Asian women worldwide since 2018, with feedback from over 200 customers who wanted consumer-sized versions.
“The KR Rescue System was inspired by a growing frustration shared by both our founder Kim Robinson and our clients with hair care products that promise visible transformation but fail to deliver lasting results.
“Most conventional hair care products rely heavily on marketing claims rather than performance. They deliver instant cosmetic results but compromise scalp health over time,” Elizabeth Ng, brand and marketing director of kimrobinson, told CosmeticsDesign-Asia.
She added that the brand is seeing a clear shift in consumer habits that is similar to how people are increasingly comfortable managing more aspects of their lifestyle independently — from shopping online to maintaining their beauty routines at home.
“Hair care is evolving in the same way. Just as going for a facial requires quality skin care to maintain results between treatments, professional hair services also need the right home care to preserve and enhance their effects.
“At the same time, consumers are becoming more discerning and experiencing product fatigue from constantly switching brands in search of something that actually works. We are seeing increased demand from consumers who are not just looking for convenience, but for results they can trust, and formulas that work synergistically with professional treatments and are easy to use at home.”
The KR Rescue System is said to answer this need by offering continuity — what clients experience in the salon is reinforced at home through products that have been tested, refined, and validated through repeated client use and positive feedback.
Overcoming ‘cycle of disappointment’
After decades of working with “real hair in real conditions”, celebrity hairstylist Kim Robinson observed that many silicone-heavy formulas masked damage rather than truly repairing it.
This cycle of disappointment became the turning point for him.
He set out to develop a system grounded in professional testing, scalp health, and long-term results. The KR Rescue System was created through extensive in-salon formulation testing, consumer feedback and repeated revisions, resulting in products that clients trust, return to, and continue using as part of their hair ritual.
The products in this line are formulated to treat hair with the same care and intelligence as skin care, delivering real hydration, structural repair, and protection without clogging the scalp or weighing hair down.
“The KR Rescue System is designed for consumers who are serious about their hair health, particularly those with coloured, bleached, chemically treated, dehydrated, or ageing hair. It is ideal for individuals living in humid climates who struggle with frizz, scalp congestion, hair fatigue, and loss of elasticity.
“Our core audience includes professionals, frequent travellers, and women who value salon-grade performance at home and want long-term results rather than short-term fixes. The system is also well suited for those transitioning from salon treatments to a consistent home ritual that prolongs the longevity of salon treatments in between visits,” said Ng.
Each kit includes an SOS Spray, a key step in the System to shield hair from heat styling, UV-related stress and damage, and other environmental stressors commonly experienced in urban and tropical climates.
Its key ingredients include panthenol, hydrolysed wheat protein, copper tripeptide-1, and glycerin. They work together to improve softness, manageability, and overall hair condition.
“The spray works by creating a lightweight, breathable protective layer over the hair fibre to help reduce moisture loss, protect against heat styling, and maintain hair strength without buildup.
“Suitable for both wet and dry hair, it is meant for everyday use to keep hair smooth, supple and hydrated without a sticky after-feel and with lasting effects.”
kimrobinson’s products are available at its namesake salon located at Takashimaya Shopping Centre in Singapore and online via its official website.
