The Sculptural anti-ageing range was introduced in January this year through the release of a face-tightening product called Sérum.
Three new products, namely Crème (densifying cream), Crème Léger (plumping cream), and Crème Yeux (firming eye cream), have since been added to the line-up and will officially be launched in Japan on May 1.
A key ingredient in this series is Phoenix Ciste, an extract of rockrose (Cistus monspeliensis) known for its regenerative properties and ability to protect skin from various environmental stressors.
Wrinkles, fine lines, volume loss, and sagging face contours are linked to a weakening of the skin’s collagen network.
Givenchy Laboratories, the arm responsible for formulating and developing the company’s beauty products, capitalised on the potential of Phoenix Ciste via a blend of ingredients called Collagiv-Act Technology.
Specifically, it provides double action on the collagen network — stimulating production of the skin’s three collagen categories and reinforcing collagen protection.
According to Givenchy, the Collagiv-Act Technology is designed to deliver a visible resculpting effect on facial contours and volumes.
In-vitro test on Phoenix Ciste showed that the functionality of collagen producers improved by 15-fold, while in-vitro test on Collagiv-Act Technology found that collagen degraders are diminished by 62%.
The Crème is claimed to redefine face contours over time, resulting in a more oval face shape, firmer skin, and faded wrinkles and fine lines.
“Upon application, the light, fluid texture transforms into a transparent veil, enveloping the skin in a feeling of comfort and softness.”
With a balm-like texture, Crème also contains niacinamide and shea butter to provide moisture and tighten the skin around the face
On the other hand, Crème Léger has a light texture that is suitable for combination skin and humid climate. Incorporated with niacinamide and adenosine, the cream is said to melt into the skin, firming and plumping it up while giving a refreshing feeling.
Similarly, Crème Yeux has a lightweight texture, and is formulated with niacinamide and Alteromonas ferment extract, a skin care ingredient derived from the fermentation of marine bacteria notable for its ability to hydrate, soothe, and protect the skin.
“It quickly absorbs into the skin around the eyes, firming and smoothing it while tightening it, leaving the eyes looking bright and radiant.”
In addition, the Sculptural range is characterised by a floral woody scent, with Phoenix Ciste at the centre of its heart note.
The products were pre-released on Givenchy Beauty’s official online shop on April 18, and will be available at Givenchy counters in department stores and select online stores, Givenchy Beauty boutique at GINZA SIX, as well as e-commerce platforms @cosme, Rakuten, and ZOZOCOSME, from May 1.
