The market researcher has compiled an interactive report exclusively for Cosmetics Design readers based on the key consumer insights and product trends currently impacting the global fragrance sector.

According to senior analyst of consumer insights Ramaa Chipalkatti, the global fragrance market reached $33bn in 2012 and is a product that is increasingly viewed by consumers as being an essential part of a daily beauty regime.

A wide variety of brands available in Western Europe has led to the region having the biggest male fragrance market, worth $4.5bn in 2012.

France is said to be the largest market, with a 20% share of the Western European male fragrance segment, indicating that French men place a high importance on their appearance and personal care.

"The search for indulgence and sensory experiences, is therefore, increasingly driving consumption in the segment, especially in emerging markets, where higher disposable income and discernment are causing a shift in consumer behavior."

Here; the market analyst reveals which segments are dominating the fragrance sector and offers further insight as to what's happening on the emerging markets front...
