Sabinsa hits on new European distribution deals

Sabinsa Corporation, a manufacturer and supplier of herbal
extracts, cosmeceuticals, minerals and specialty fine chemicals,
has appointed new agents in France and Germany for its
cosmeceutical line as part of a drive to extend its business in
Europe.

Brenntag Specialties has been appointed to represent Sabinsa in France and ROVI Cosmetics has been appointed as the agent in Germany.

Brenntag Specialties is a division of the Brenntag Group that deals with specialty products for the cosmetics industry. They employ a sales staff with technical backgrounds. Brenntag Specialties is based out of Sartrouville near Paris, France and have established relationships with French cosmetic companies.

"The nutritional side of Sabinsa's business is already well established in Europe, but having only been set up four years ago, the potential for our cosmetics division has yet to be fully explored in Europe,"​ Tasneen Padiath told CosmeticsDesign.com."Our distribution agreement in France should really help to kick start our business operations there. And likewise in Germany we will be looking forward to becoming a major player in the market."

ROVI Cosmetics is a well-known company based out of Schlüchtern, Germany which markets and distributes cosmetic active ingredients. With a highly experienced staff that has spent years working for cosmetic majors, ROVI has established a network within the German cosmetic industry.

The company says that in Europe it has decided to focus on developing its cosmetics business in the biggest countries. Currently its business is already well established in Italy, where its nutritional division is also well established.

Negotiations are also under way in the UK, where the company says it is soon hoping to announce a new distributor for its herbal extracts.

Currently Sabinsa has annual sales of $40 million, of which 10 to 15 per cent are attributed to cosmetic product sales. Although cosmetic ingredient sales are still small in Europe, the company said that it is aiming to derive 30 per cent of its total cosmetic sales from the region.

Sabinsa Corporation​ has established offices in US, India and Japan and has recently opened offices in Australia and South Africa. Sabinsa also has agents that represent its line in the Middle East, South East Asia and Italy. With the establishment of these two relationships, Sabinsa Corporation has further increased its global reach.
