Japanese skin care brand CAMYU has released a new anti-ageing serum formulated with cannabidiol (CBD) and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbs known for their hydrating, anti-inflammatory and firming effects.

Cannabis, which has been used in TCM since ancient times, is often combined with other herbs to alleviate ailments specific to an individual, and to achieve harmony and balance within the body.

Through its CBD-infused products, CAMYU seeks to holistically benefit the body, mind and spirit of consumers.

Its latest product, Radiance Petal Serum LUNA, is formulated with key ingredients such as rose water extracted from Damask rose, CBD, and hyaluronic acid.

It also contains reishi, chaga and Cordyceps sinensis, herbs that have long been incorporated into TCM and folk remedies due to their health and beauty properties, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting.

Specifically, reishi is rich in polyphenols that are necessary for collagen production, and polysaccharides that help reduce redness in skin and may improve inflammation in acne and eczema.

Chaga is packed with nutrients like polyphenols, beta-glucans, and minerals to support healthy skin. It is also said to promote blood circulation, increase moisture retention, and suppress inflammation.

Similarly, Cordyceps sinensis contains abundant nourishing components, including polypeptides (amino acids), vitamins and minerals, which not only improve the health of skin, but also its appearance, such as a firming effect.

“These three mushrooms and CBD work like two sides of a coin to provide comprehensive support for skin concerns, particularly ageing skin. The serum is recommended for people with dull and dry skin, as well as those who want to care for their skin with plant-based products,” the brand said.

Currently, Radiance Petal Serum LUNA is available in Japan via pre-sale on CAMYU’s website and select retail stores, with the official launch slated for July.

Luxurious and calming

According to CAMYU, the “elegant scent” and moisturising properties of rose water, with the addition of jasmine essential oil, offers the user a relaxing and luxurious feel akin to a facial experience.

Other key ingredients include meadowfoam, which forms a water-retaining film on the skin that inhibits the evaporation of moisture, and hyaluronic acid, which is known for its ability to hydrate skin, and prevent wrinkles, fine lines and sagging.

In addition, the serum’s thick texture helps it adhere to the skin when applied, leaving the skin feeling soft and supple.

CAMYU’s existing line-up consists of CBD face and body creams, oils, bath soaks, and scent rollers.

A product that can be used in complementary to Radiance Petal Serum LUNA is the CBD Skin Oil GRACE that comprises a blend of 15 essential oils, including ginseng seed extract oil and helichrysum.

“It is convenient to use as a finishing touch for your regular skin care routine, especially when you are concerned about dryness. It has a light, mellow fragrance, but because it is made with natural essential oils, the scent does not linger.

“As the product does not contain any additives, it is recommended for daily care. Furthermore, you can apply it for simple massages and stretching exercises due to its relaxing effect that helps loosen up the body.”
