This year’s in-cosmetics Asia event is shaping up to be a real launching pad for ingredients, as Clariant joins a growing band of companies launching new ingredients at the show.

The company has lined up the new ingredients for the Asia Pacific market because they have been built around the needs of the industry there, while its decision to exhibit has been built around communicating to the industry the specific solutions it is showcasing at the event.

“We can sit down together to elaborate the latest direction the dynamic markets in Asia are taking and how Clariant’s recent acquisitions and technologies can contribute to new mutual opportunities,” said Guido Appl, head of sales and application, Clariant Personal Care Asia Pacific.

Paraben-free preservative, natural ingredient line and a new polymer

The Switzerland-based company is launching three new ingredients – a paraben-free preservative alternative, a natural plant-based ingredient line and a polymer targeting "soft skin feel."

The company will be exhibiting the new innovations at stand D30 in the exhibition hall for the in-cosmetics event, 29 – 31 October, which will again be held in the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

As well as platforming the new innovations at the booth, the company is also focusing on the launch of the new polymer with a presentation given by by Mildred Estrada, Technical Accounts Manager Clariant Singapore, entitled “Uncover the Secret Code of Beauty with Aristoflex Velvet”.

Clariant's Secret Code of Beauty

The presentation will provide information for formulation experts about the ideas which have gone into the development of the polymer, which have been based around the principles of Clariant’s Secret Code of Beauty.

This concept was launched in Paris last year and combines five codes that focus on helping customers achieve successful formulations by incorporating the company’s insights in to sensorial solutions and sustainability, together with consumer insight, trends and market expertise.

According to Clariant, the polymer is suitable for a wide range of applications, skin types and age groups and can be added to any formulation step, thanks to its excellent solvent compatibility which also makes it appropriate for clear formulations.

Nipguard Zero preservative line

Nipguard Zero is a range of four paraben-free preservative blend that is based on Clariant’s 100% renewable Velsan SC synergistic booster for use in rinse-off and leave-on products, wet-wipes and difficult-to-preserve formulations. It is also Ecocert approved.

Meanhwhile the Plantesens line is likely to appeal to the growing band of formulators looking for alternative natural-based ingredients, and this portfolio of ingredients was recently acquired by Clariant from CRM International.

It is a range of plant-based actives, emulsifiers, waxes and a broad selection of emulsifiers that include vegetable oils and natural butters that provide a natural alternative to a range of synthetic-based ingredients.
