US consumers showing more interest in C-beauty rituals – Florasis

C-beauty brand Florasis is aiming to capitalise on the American beauty consumers’ rising curiosity about Chinese beauty rituals and ingredients.

The company aims to reach the US consumers through innovative products that embody the C-Beauty heritage, which include its use of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ingredients in its products.

“The increasing interest in C-beauty and diversity in beauty standards presents an exciting opportunity for Florasis,” ​said Gabby Chen, president of global expansion.

K-beauty brand Mixsoon inks deal with Costco to expand US footprint

Mixsoon will launch in around 200 Costco stores in the latter half of the year as it moves to expand its presence in the US.

In addition, the firm is also in talks to launch with Costco in Canada, allowing it to expand its footprint across North America.

The brand is already available online on Amazon, where it is ranked as one of the top-selling serums.

The US is currently the brand’s biggest market, followed by Europe.

Clio Cosmetics Q1: Goodal, Dermatory skin care sales boost enhances overall profitability

Clio Cosmetics reported a boost in profitability for the first quarter (Q1) driven by efforts to improve the sales of skin care brands such as Goodal and Dermatory.

Clio credited its continued growth to the reinforcement of its skin care brands Goodal and Dermatory, which helped to strengthen its place in the ‘basic cosmetics’ category in Korea.

This, along with improving its distribution channel efficiency, helped to enhance overall profitability.

APR Corp doubling down on sustainability initiatives and global expansion

South Korea-based beauty tech firm APR Corp is strengthening its sustainability strategy while accelerating its global expansion efforts after recording the highest ever annual overseas sales.

APR, the company behind brands like medicube and April Skin, was listed on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) in February, on the back of record-breaking overseas sales in the past financial year.

Since 2021, APR has been promoting participation in its “Sustainable medicube” campaign, an empties-collection initiative that rewards points worth KRW300 (USD0.22) for every bottle submitted.

 

Lubrizol backs C-beauty: Ingredients firm bullish on potential of China growth potential

Lubrizol has extended its partnership with C-beauty major PROYA, underscoring its confidence in the growth potential of China’s local beauty manufacturers.

Lubrizol and PROYA have been working together since the brand’s inception 20 years ago. In that time, the firm has watched the local beauty scene grow from strength to strength.
“Today, the Chinese consumer wants something from their own culture, a Chinese element integrated into the brand. That’s why we are seeing C-beauty rising up – not just in skin care but in makeup as well,” ​said Wang Chang, regional business director, beauty, home and pharma, Lubrizol.
