冬虫夏草 - Cordyceps sinensis
Cordyceps sinensis, known as 'winter worm' or 'summer grass', is a fungus that parasitizes larvae of ghost moths and produces a fruiting body valued as a herbal remedy. The fungus germinates in the living larva, kills and mummifies it until a fruiting body emerges from the corpse.
It’s considered as one of the most precious TCM ingredient in China.
In beauty, this ingredient helps to delay skin ageing, improve the complexion and has highly moisturizing functions. Brands such as Herborist, Estée Lauder and Yue Sai, have developed skin care products based on this precious ingredient.
