Selecting China

Founded in the US, the independent speciality chemicals manufacturer expands its international reputation by upping its production and developing a Centre of Excellence in Guangzhou, China.

At its Chinese facility, Inolex already has an existing commercial and technical centre. With the addition of its new full-scale microbiology laboratory, the cosmetics chemical maker will be able to provide challenge test services for both internal and external formulation projects relating to alternative preservation systems.

Alternative preservatives

The Chinese marketplace represents a key growth area for Inolex as its focuses on alternative preservation solutions and natural, innovative ingredients designed for the beauty and personal care industry.

Utilising sustainable technologies, Inolex handles safe and natural technologies for preserving cosmetics, providing natural replacements for silicone and creating high-performance polymers for sun care applications and other renewable green-chemistry ingredients.

To support production and operations at the newly-expanded Guangzhou unit, Inolex has added several personnel members to its China-based team.

Anna Gao has recently enrolled at the company in the role of account manager for East of China, following a number of marketing and sales engineer roles in the beauty care industry.

In July, Mengru Li joined the laboratory as a microbiologist. With a Masters in engineering in aquatic products processing and a BS in engineering in food science and engineering, Li’s research experience in microbiology and molecular biology will aid laboratory explorations.

With several years of experience in the cosmetics arena, Jane Xiong, became application manager in July. With a background in chemical engineering and technology, and previously the manager of R&D at Guangzhou Sheencolor Cosmetic, Xiong has a variety of cosmetics patents.

“The mega trend that China represents is a priority for us,” revealed David Plimpton, CEO, Inolex.

“Our investment in Guangzhou helps ensure that we remain focused on the specific demands of the Chinese market as it continues to evolve as beauty care hub,” commented Plimpton.

Inolex has received organic certification from Ecocert France, along with the National Organic Program in the US, Natrue in Germany, and Cosmos in Europe. As the company heads towards the Asian market, it will focus on building its reputation and production from its enlarged Guangzhou, China site.
